Hi there! My name is Pablo, and I’m a 38 years old Brazilian living in Brisbane, Australia. I’ve had many blogs before, but I decided to start this one to document this important chapter in my life.
Last Thursday, June 11th 2020 I got granted permanent residency in Australia, after living here for five and a half years. Now that I’m officially a resident in this fantastic country I have nothing in my mind other than doing the most with this fantastic opportunity life is giving me. Australia is a country of immense opportunities and I consider myself extremely lucky to have the chance to live here.
Moving forward from the stress of securing residency I want to get back to studying formally, so I can give back to Australia and contribute to the world while collecting friends and having a fantastic time.
I have a fun and rewarding job as a dance teacher but as much as I love my job I don’t see myself doing in the long run (which is no secret to my bosses). My job as a dance teacher feeds many of core needs: community, connection, learning, physicality. And of course, it also pays the bills.
I want to post every single day. I’ve always loved writing, but after listening to an interview with writer Seth Godin I was convinced I had to introduce this habit in my daily routine. I’ll explain the reasons later as I don’t want this intro post to be too long, but the most important thing I want to achieve from it is to have a solid metrics of discipline. Everything I want to achieve in life requires discipline and posting here will help me develop and document it.
I honestly don’t expect anyone to read it in the beginning, but I think there will be valuable material in this space throughout the years. This is a lifelong project, and I plan to be posting every day till the day I die.
So let’s get started! It’s a pleasant Monday, end of the afternoon (best time of the day in my opinion) and I’m currently sitting at the office at the dance studio where I work. I’ll post again tonight with some of my visions for the future.
See you then!!
Hooray! Congratulations on your residency!
I look forward to reading more about your experiences. I was lucky enough to meet Seth Godin about ten years ago on New Years Day in Manhattan. He’s amazingly inspirational. He says ‘your job is to make your art’. This blog is a part of your art! Go for it! Woohoo!
