Yesterday I started reading Bruce Eckel’s “Thinking in Java“, and in the first part of the book whoever learns C will have a much easier time learning Java and C++. I decided I’ll add C to my studies. My main learning will still be Java, using CodeGym platform, but I’ll also study the Thinking in C seminar. It’s widely available online and I’ll be using this version, found on the University of Oregon website.
Yesterday I finally finished the chapter on objects and I have a little more understanding of static modifiers, definitely a better understanding of loops. I’m absolutely loving the course and can’t wait for the next chapter: Arrays!!
Tough Times
Even though yesterday was a great day at work, since I had a few solid hours streaming dance classes live, Australian Premier Scott Morrison unleashed severe measures to stop Covid-19 spread, including closure of all restaurants, pubs and GYMS. This is hardcore. But necessary, I suppose. Things are getting worse daily and the only way it could get worse is if we have a war, but I don’t think that’s the case.
I’ll use this opportunity to grow as much as I can as a programmer and as a dancer and will have to find creative ways to workout and home and maybe find someone’s gym to keep working out in the next few months. It will be also a great exercise in living frugally and having as little as possible, with ultimately leads to a stronger character.
Now shut up and code, Pablo!
